An introduction to Jennifer & Digital/Hybrid Scrapbooking!

Hi Everybody! I'm Jennifer and I have worked at the Scrapbook Supply Store since the brick and mortar shop opened last year. You might know me as "the quiet one" : ) I'm married and have 2 boys -  4 yrs and 2 yrs old. I've been scrapbooking for 11 years and started dabbling in digital scrapbooking a year ago. I was so excited when we decided to partner with Polka Dot Potato! They have some great digital products! Right now their Potato Bar is open. That means you can buy different elements for just 99 cents! Mondays are usually "Manic Mondays", where the products of a featured designer are on sale. You can buy a kit (digital papers, embellishments, & sometimes alphas) for under $5, download them to your computer, and use them all over and over again! Some designers even make products to use with your favorite chipboard albums and Avery printables. When you make a purchase, enter our partner ID, which is scrapbooksupply, and we'll get credit!

I'm including a few of my layouts here and you can see more in the store. I've used 2 versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements, and also Memory Mixer by Lasting Impressions. I still consider myself a newbie to digital, and learn mostly by playing around. I'll never give up traditional scrapbooking because I love to touch and feel all the supplies! But there's something to be said for scrapping on the laptop in front of the tv without the kids getting into my glitter, scissors, adhesives, etc!

Img_2649 This is my favorite hybrid layout. The first pic is of the whole kit "Hello Blue Sky" by Laura Ping. I printed the LO out on the store's Epson wide-format printer and then added some chipboard and felt pieces from the Creative Cafe.

This is the Camo Camper kit by Amanda Lee. Originally I thought it'd be great for my boys, but I'm going to a scrap retreat at a camp this fall, and it turns out the kit was perfect for the personal page required of me!

I hope you'll give digital/hybrid scrapping a chance and if you already love it, I hope you'll check out Polka Dot Potato! I'll be back to post more layouts soon!

Scrapper's Best Friend.... The ScrapOnizer!

I have probably tried every which way to organize my scrapbook room! SERIOUSLY! My wonderful husband built my shelving for me and I have been on the hunt for a product to easily organize my room. Well guess what.... The Scrapbook Supply Store had it! The ScrapOnizer. Sure it looks compact, but Oh My does it hold a ton. I found that the ScrapOnizer works well with The Cropper Hopper Cubes. It fits perfectly inside the ScrapOnizer. I love when Products are compatable!!!

Classes for the Week of 8/18

I can't believe school starts next week!  I have had so much fun this summer with my girls.  They are growing up way too fast.
My youngest is an artist.  I thought this Kelly Pannaci paper was made for her.  I took a few photos of her art work and made a cute coaster album.  I will teach this class on Monday, August 18 during Cafe Creations from 11-1.  The cost is $15 and includes all supplies.  Reservations are required.  Please bring your basic tools: trimmer, adhesive, scissors, and GLUE DOTS for the buttons.  It's is adorable!Coaster_1 Coaster_2

My other daughter is not your typical teenager!  She held a "Girls Rule 2" camp this summer for girls ages 6 and 7.  My "girls" worked extremely hard putting the camp together for the campers...different themes each day with lunch, crafts, ad games.  They finished the week off with Water Fun.  I have made an accordian album capturing a few of the adorable little girls.  I will teach this class on Thursday, August 21 between 11-1.  Please make your reservations and bring your tool box with adhesive, trimmer, and scissors.  The class is $15 and includes all supplies.Accordian_1_2 Accordian_3
